Caritas Australia’s annual Lenten fundraising and awareness-raising appeal is an extraordinary, ongoing demonstration of the faith, love and generosity of the Catholic congregation and caring supporters throughout Australia to help end poverty, promote justice and uphold dignity
Caritas Australia’s Project Compassion program demonstrates how love for our neighbours can transform lives each year.
Sharing stories from people in Philippines, Timor Leste, Indigenous Australia, Vietnam, and Fiji humble and inspire us, and show how our contributions to Project Compassion help people build better lives for themselves, their families and their communities.
St Peter’s College students, staff and families come together over the period of Lent to practice ‘Alms Giving’. Fundraising for Social Justice! Fundraising through Project Compassion is a fun way to help the world’s most vulnerable people and encourage others to love their neighbours.
Some of the fundraising initiatives undertaken by our students & staff:
- Pancake Tuesday
- Car Wash
- 5 Cent coin line
- Project Compassion weekly donation box collections
- Easter Egg Raffles
- Bake Sale
In Term 1, Harmony Day is celebrated across the College, with many fundraising activities undertaken, including many stalls selling national food, and National Dress Parade and other activities where we all come together to celebrate our diverse cultural backgrounds.
Staff and Students are encouraged to wear ‘cultural dress’ and different cultures are celebrated through story, song and dance.
