All in a name…..
The Learning Enrichment Centre has taken on a new name, to reflect the wider purposes of our Learning Enrichment Centre (LEC) Programs.
Enrichment speaks of making fuller, more meaningful and more rewarding opportunities.
St. Peter’s College strives to value add these extra ingredients as we work to improve student learning and outcomes in the College.
The LEC continues to support students across both the Clyde North and Cranbourne campuses. ‘Working with Gifted and Talented students’, ‘Encouraging Our Reluctant Learners’, ‘Supporting Students with Anxiety’, and ‘Assisting Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder’ to name a few of the key areas.
At lunch and recess students who are new to the College and are looking for like-minded friends, can relax with others, chatting and playing games or watching a film clip. LEC provides a safe place for our students and a great environment for socialising.
Homework Club continues to be popular at both the Clyde North and Cranbourne campuses. Students receive the help they need with homework assessments from Monday to Thursday 3:30 – 4:30. Our Literacy classes in Year 7 and 8 provide extra tuition in Reading & Writing, Speaking, Listening and Spelling & Grammar.
Homework Club is a place for students to study and to receive one on one help with their homework and assignments. Students are encouraged to do their best in a helpful, positive and friendly environment.
Attending Homework Club once or twice a week can enable students to take personal responsibility for managing their schoolwork commitments, to develop a study routine, self-discipline, organisational and time management skills.
