As is the tradition here at St. Peter’s College, the first day of the school year we only have our Year 12’s and our new Year 7’s return for the school year.
Once the Year 7 students have been greeted by our Principal and Head of Campus, our Pastoral Leader co-ordinates a day full of fun activities, aimed at settling the students into their respective Houses and Tutor Groups, having the Year 12’s help them find their way around the campus, read their timetables and set up their lockers.
Some of the days activities include an Amasing Race, where students use a set of clues to race around the campus finding specific rooms, areas and grounds. They finish the day with ‘A Minute to Win It’ where they compete with their new House members against the other Houses in numerous fun activities, earning points along the way for their Campus Shield points.
And we don’t forget the parents, where our Parents & Friends Association organising a morning tea for them once the students leave to start their day, a fortifying cup of tea or coffee and mini muffin are greatly received (and there is always a box of tissues on hand if needed).
